I don't know whether or not anyone wants to act upon this or not, but I think this forum needs two things:
1. A "Help and Suggestions" Forum
2. Reputation
These would both be pretty nice and the Help and Sugesstions would make things more organized.
Thanks,
Lukario

Lukario ....salutations officer .. http://home.earthlink.net/%7Etrilu/lol/smiles/rofl.gif now that's cute ...
A help and suggestions forum sounds interesting ... what kind of help and suggestions were you thinking it would be for?
Reputation ... I think I might be able to set that up. My only concern is that in another board I run it was kinda abused a bit, used to hurt people's feelings mostly. That makes me just a bit hesitant to try it again but I will definitely give it some serious consideration.
Thanks for the thread on suggestions, it could be helpful!

I got the idea from another forum, where it is used for support like a lost password, or a general forum question. I find it would work really nice.
As far as rep being abused I know that might happen, but I would like to think people here could contain themselves, but I share the same concern because some people may lack maturity.

It's every 30 seconds and it is there for a very legitamate and good reason. Would you like a SPAM bot being able to post back to back wanting you to buy a subscription to a magazine?

Actually, I just reset that this afternoon to match my other forum and it does help cut down on spam bots ... although I haven't seen anything here yet that indicates there has been a problem with them .. I'm willing to compromise and set it back to 30 .. but if problems arise, I reserve the right to go back to the 50 second time ... deal? ;)

I really don't mind other forums I have to deal with 60 anyway so 50 isn't asking too much anyway.

Reputation is where you rate a member based on posts and as a member. You get "reputation points" based on how many posts you haqve and by how long you have been here. Some members can turn rep off to avoid abuse and you also have a bigger effect on a person the more points you have. You normaly would get a point for every 1000 posts and by every year you are here. It is totally up to the admin to determine this. The only problem with vBulletin karma is that you can't see the name of the person who left you comments unless they say something like "Hey. Your topic was really cool. Lukario" I don't know if you can see now, but from what I've seen, you can't see who did it.

Just to let ya all know .. I will be discussing bringing in an arcade with CheatMaster this evening during our meeting. I honestly don't think he will have any problem with it other then when we installed it in the other forum it meant a little down time due to necessary upgrades and tweaks to make it work properly. :p

Here is my question then. How come he just doesn't post on his own forum and come back? This is getting a little weird and starting to not make any sense.

lol .. I think you are seeing conspiracy where none exists really.
CheatMaster is a man with many many irons in the fire, so to speak. This is not his only site. He has several of various kinds. Some are game sites, some are forums, some are product sties, and some are resource sites. He depends on his administrators to keep his sites running. This is his business .. think of him as a CEO of a larger corporation. He has administrators reporting to him on the health of the various branches of the business and will provide some help if it is needed. Its what he does for a living. Besides that he has a family with two young boys whom he is very dedicated to.
This is all standard operating procedure. Nothing "fishy," nothing sly, just a man who was not getting responses from his administrator so sought out one he knew had helped him build up one of his forums from 500 members to over 53,000 in three years and another from 6,000 members to almost 13,000 in one year.
Change is difficult and strange and uncomfortable .. I totally understand. But there is no conspiracy here. All I want to do is build this forum up into something we can all be proud to be part of. You all will like parts of the changes and won't like other parts of the changes, its human nature.
This strange person (Cheetah) has suddenly come in and rocked your little piece of the world .. your play ground. I get it, seriously I do. I just wish you all could get that it sure isn't easy for me either! Taking over the admin duties of an established board that has faltered in its original vision is never easy. And to do so amongst folks who can find nothing pleasant to say about what you are trying to do makes it that much more difficult.
How about you all give me a chance rather then rip me apart here, and else where. I'm not evil .. I'm just someone trying to do a job that was given to me to do, and apparently trying to do so in an atmosphere of adversity ... not an easy task but I am dedicated to build this forum up as I have the others.
Now .. if we could move along .. enjoy the forum and stop looking for evil demons where none exist .. perhaps, just perhaps, you may find yourself as senior members among a growing community .. it will take time, but it sure isn't gonna happen with all this negativity that is being put out.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation

Not really conspiracy. And also there is no negativity right now. We are just trying to figure out things and we are all looking for answers. We have been played so much by one person we start to wonder what is going on. We have been messed with one way or another and some still are. This person has manipulated us and we feel that nothing is being done about it. We understand you are just starting out and no one is lashing out at you. It's just that we need to build up our trust with you in a way because of what we have been put through.
We are just trying to ask our thoughts and opinions. We all though are trying to figure out why us here weren't asked to mod. There are a couple people I know of who would be perfect. We feel that the person who was picked is not following "procedure" by constantly double posting as to get posts up or something. Usually that is how it works on these or any kind of forum. But these couple of people I know would suit the mod nicely for when everything was happening they were calm cool and collect. They tried to help out with getting things equal between others and suceeded. And they don't do double posting to get their posts up. They have big hearts and healthy minds.
We also don't understand why Cheatmaster doesn't come on at all. He use to and then he too just ups and disappears. Then all of a sudden bam! here you are. So, forgive us if we are asking questions that seem childish but if you were put through what we have been you would understand also. I see a lot of the negativity gone and right now its questions we have.
We are not looking for "evil demons". We are looking for answers. No one is "rippping" you apart either. I hope you honestly don't see it that way. Right now our trust is just about little to non and it will take time to build up. But we don't want you thinking negatively like you seem to be. All we are trying to do is help you understand what has been happening and what we feel, think, also known as opinions. Which is what has been and will always be posted by our family here. Opinions aren't meant to be taken to heart, they are not facts. These are our feelings we post also. We're just laying our cards on the table to show you what we feel and think about things. That is what we have been asked to do.
Also saying that this person came in all of a sudden. He'd been here for a long time. He just changes his name. As a matter of fact, he has added a few names in the last couple of days. But what we don't get is how Cheatmaster could let this happen. This person was the admin by the name of Adam. It's just crazy for all that has gone on.
Again though, we aren't putting out negativity though. We are lost. We are looking for answers. Some are just too scared to say or ask. Please don't take our questions as bad and our thoughts as evil. We are just trying to help you out with what we know.

I was saying the same thing yesterday how this all doesn't seem to add up seeing as CheatMaster hasn't been on since February and then four months later just randomly popping up on the forums seems a bit too strange. Anyways I am not pointing fingers seeing as we do have someone that does something rather than no one doing anything and letting all this chaos happen.
I also agree that there are some people here that would make good mods and I am not saying that LegdendaryMan is bad, the fact is the mod double posts a lot and I never saw any of those posts merged and this can be due to several reasons, I am not blaming it on the fact the mod can do whatever they wish.
I also think that when someone becomes a mod after only having 31 posts and being a member for nine days seems unfair because some people (like me) have wanted to for a long time, but never get much of a responce. I am not saying I should get any special treatment, but I have helped a lot also and I know a lot about vBulletin and I'm not a n00b at being a mod. Whether you like people that have never had the chance to be one, that is something I can understand.
I also really support the fact Adam isn't an admin anymore because I know this was a bunch of crud and now Patient is hiding under another one of his profiles acting like he's a n00b when he really isn't. I don't that much about it unless he is given some kind of power because then he will totally make people say things they never did.
Anyways, this is turing into a rant.
Thanks,
Lukario

True. In my opinion to start out, I feel that people from another forum who come in to just Mod isn't right. They are in their forums for a reason. I feel that they don't understand "US" the family here, they way we all understand each other. We have become close with each other and knowing things we may say to each other, could for some odd reason, seem like an insult to some one, then next thing you know that person is banned. We feel that though, bringing in outside Mods isn't right. We have people here who would be great, sorry for repeating this though.
Another thing that we found a little out of porportion is how we "Must stick the topic at hand and not wander off". To us, that seems a little hard to because its a forum and if someone is talking about the topic and wanders a little it shouldn't be a warning or anything. Just chit chat. That is what this is here for right? To make friends? Meet new people? Have fun?? So, why do we have to change what we have been doing all this time anyway and it hasn't caused any commotions? We feel like we are being invaded now and everything is being flipped around. Why can't we talk? Next thing you know, we would start new topics for just that teensy bit of chit chat, then be warned or banned for some one thinking its spam or something.
I'm sorry, and so you know, this isn't negativity. It's conversing and helping others understand.

I agree with this, but while I don't protest having mods you can trust because you know them more than us, how long is this going to last until eventually we don't have one moderator and two supermoderators?
I agree about the keeping on topic part. I can pretty much stay on topic, bet there are always some people who will get bored and start SPAMMING.
