WARNING - This thread contains Movie Spoilers and therefore, read only is you want to or you want to contribute. Just thought I would tell you rather than you having to find out by reading it. I don't want people to call me an ******* because I or anyone that posted in here have away the ending to a movie they planned on watching.
First and Foremost - Use this thread to reccomend movie, not to say movies you recently watched. This is basically a summary of the paragraph below.
This is kind of like the What Movie(s) Have You Seen Recently thread, but this thread is to reccomend movies you thought were good for the family, genuinely good movies, or movies you thought was thought provoking. I know there are several out there, and this thread is not meant to be like that What Movie(s) Have You Seen Recently, because this is not about what the last movie you saw was and what rating you would give it. It can be one you saw recently, but a movie that you thought would be suitable for a specific audience. What I am about to give, is an extended synopsis (analysis), and somewhat of a review. Keep in mind mine is long and you shouldn't make yours as long as mine, unless you want to, and you also shouldn't make it two lines long either. You can reccoment as many movies you want at a time, but don't consistently post every other post about a movie because that can easily be made into one post.
There are two movies I have seen recently that I thought I should talk about. Peaceful Warror and Flushed Away
Name: Peaceful Warrior
Rating: PG-13
My Rating: PG-13
Reccomended for: Family and/or Personal
Type: Insparational
- First off, I would reccoment this movie as the rating: PG-13. This means I think this movie is for people thirteen and up because there is some sexuality and sensuality, which means people doing lovey-dovie stuff, but is not sexuality. There are only two parts of sexuality, and they both last about a minute, and there the sensuality is about twenty seconds.
- This movie is about a student in college, named Dan Mellman, who attends Cal State Berkely and is in the Gymnastics team. One late night he wakes up and goes to the gas station and he meets this man who can do extraordinary things. Dan first thinks this guy is a wierdo, but later he starts to listen to the guy and he starts to learn how to focus and clear his mind to have the ability to do amazing things. A quote out of the movie that meant something was when Dan asked Socrates(that is what Dan calls him, you never find out what his real name is), "Give me some of your magic" (meaning give me the ability to do that) Socrates would say, "It's not magic". What this meant is that you can do it if you set your mind to it. Dan ends up in a motorcycle accident because he was wrecklessly driving and the doctors told him he would never be able to do gymnastics again. Through the teachings of his trainer, Socrates, he is able to overcome what his fate was and was able to win the Gold Medal in the Olympics. A very good movie for the kids and for the family (excluding the sexuality part)
Name: Flushed Away
Rating: PG
My Rating: G-PG [could fit both]
Reccomended For: Family and/or Personal
Type: Family
- Even though this movie is rated PG, I think it can fit into both a G and PG catagory, seeing as I didn't find it to be something that you had to watch with someone else. Other than that, it still was in the given rating.
- This movie is about a rat named Roddey or Rodney (coudn't tell) who thinks he is living the good life in an estate in England. A sewer rat named Sid who flushes him down the toilet into the sewer. The plot surrounds a frog who plans to flush away the sewer city of rats during the half time of the England v. Germany World Cup. Roddey finds himself stuck in an unfamiliar city with a bunch of people he doesn't know. After a bit he stumbles into the Jammy Dodger [which is a boat] where he finds Rita, a regular amonght the community. The frog plans to steal a ruby form Rita until Roddey tells Rita it is a fake and breaks it. Rita insisted that it was from Queen Elizabeth, but Roddey explains that real rubys won't break. Roddey and Rita are captured and then Rita steals the master cable from the frog, which ruins his plot, for now, and they escape. They get to know eachother and all that stuff and then they are captured yet again and the flood seems eminent. Roddey then uses the liquid nitrogen to freeze the water and then Roddey and Rita end up at Roddey's house. Stuff happens and then Roddey tells Sid he can be the new pet and Roddey decides to live the sewer life from not on with Rita as first mate of the Jammy Dodger II [the first one was destroyed]. A very good movie for the family and definetly one I would watch a second time.
Well, I hope that you all have movies that you can reccomend and hopefully, can convince other people that they are good.
