PS2 Shrek Superslam..help an 8 year old

my son has shrek superslam. he is trying to unlock cyclops in the final battle between fiona vs hook and charming. Its impossible. i cant even do it. any tips or cheats or willingness to come complete itwould be greatly appreciated. He has been at it for months and its plain impossible to do unless there is a secret no one in this house can figure out. Thanks again...would mean the world to him.

Those are helful but do not open the characters that are the reward for completing a mega challenge. I am on the last step of a mega challenge that would reward me with cyclops the character to play. What i am in need of is a strat to completing this challenge itself. Thanks for the input
