The size of the hard-drive was in different variants just like when the XBOX 360 launched they released two systems the Core system and the Full Version. The only difference was the hard-drive.

Its acturlly a good thing because like me i cant affrod to buy a 400 pound game conslole with loads of memory but i can aford a 279 poound on with half the memory of the expensive one. :)

I agree. I think you'll see more and more systems in the future that follow this trend, simply because people who buy the system have different plans on how to use it.

For example, let's say I love PS3, but I only love 3-5 games. I would have no need to spend extra money on a better hard drive. Likewise, if someone plays 25 games, downloads videos, and uploads music onto their PS3, they'd probably be better off with a larger hard drive.

One PS3 has 40GB memory. The other has 80GB memory.

I have the 80 GB memory one. I play alot of video games, and I have alot of PS3 games, so I guess it makes sense that I bought the 80 GB one.

They just want more money, thats what that is. Next year they'll have some new system replacing the 400 dollar one. The same would go for computers, the core duo's are being replaced with quad core's this summer...completely. Before you know it, we will all have computer chips in our heads and be able to play games and teleport.

I have no objections to teleporting.
Furthermore, I don't think some of these "quad-cores" can beat my setup still. Especially the ones that Dell will make and whatnot.
