why won't the ps3 playing ps2 games that sucks. but the system and the games are really goood. Anybody got a PS3 if so what is the best games yall have or i could by???

I dont have a PS 3. I think it sucks also that you cant play PS 2 games on a PS 3 especially since youre able to play Playstation games on a PS 2 at least thats what Ive been told.

i have a ps3 and it is awsome. I owns 360. The games i currently have are warhawk, call of duty 4 modern warfare, fear, skate & assasins creed. War hawk is a great game BUT it is only a online/multiplayer game but good fun call of duty 4 this game would have to be the best game i have ever played it has stunning graphics a great story line action packed multiplayer but the only down is the campain is short so short i finished it in 5 hours (but great fun). The online side of this game is awsome it has alot for you to do and lots of real life weapons and you can work your way up the ranks of the world and try to be the best in the world.
F.E.A.R this game sucks i would advise anyone not to get this game the graphics look like they are from the stone age and a very **** story line. Skate is the best skateboarding game on the market at the moment it has realistic graphics, realistic features and the new addition to skateboarding games the trick u do is relevant to the way you move the anolog sticks. This game Pwns all the tony hawk games by miles. The only down is the online gaming has a very poor frame rate. and finaly assasins creed this game has very realistic graphics and fighting teachniques has a short campain but is still fun to run around killing gqurds. 99.9% of the the wall and objects are interactinve (very good).
that is about all i can tell you to buy but i would advise you to check out these titles when they come out:
Grand theft auto:IV
Haze
The new resistance (forgot full name)

thats odd the ps3 should be able to play ps2 games you need to go back to the game store and ask why this is happening

depends on what type of ps3 it is, how much did u pay for it, some can play ps2 games and some cant

That's why I don't believe Sony to be the better of the two companies right now. That should have been priority on ALL systems based on PS2's success.

Anyway, pudge, great post, had a lot more depth than most I read. However, I'm 100% sure that COD4 and Assassin's Creed are also on 360, which sort of voids that PS3 is better. I'm not sure about the others.

i have a ps3 the best games i got for it is tekken 5 dark resserection and tony hawks proving ground the games i got for it is......Tekken5 Dark Resserection,Virtua Fighter 5,Need for Speed Carbon,Tony Hawk Project 8,Motorstorm,Mobile suit Gundam Crossfire,and Lego Star Wars the full Saga.try them.JerH24 your wrong sony made 2 ps3s 1 can play ps2 and ps1 games and 1 cant.
