short version: Radio station has a contest to win a Wii. They had to drink a bunch of water and hold there wee for a Wii. The lady in second died from water intoxication. She dropped out from getting sick .. "clue there" ..

The entire 10 person staff of the morning show in question was terminated

Local sheriff's department has opened a criminal investigation of the case. In an online recording of the show, the DJs can be heard making comments joking about people dying from water intoxication

CNN said that the woman drank just under 2 gallons of water, thats enough to throw off the balance of electrolytes in your body. This surprises me because sometimes when i get a glass of water, I keep refilling my glass 'cause im so thirsty and its scary that if I were to do this enough, I could end up accidently killing myself....

It was very unfortunate. I think water intoxication is something with the blatter problems or something, but it stinks that she died winning a wii. I mean I like the wii but not to have my mom to die so I could have one...

I didnt know that you could die from to much water intoxication and the best part is it was all over the wii(which is not my favorite gaming system)

i got some information what water intoxication is:

water intoxication occurs when a person drinks enough water to significantly lower the concentration of sodium in the blood, causing the brain to swell, which in turn produces a decreased level of consciousness progressing from lethargy to stupor to coma.


fatal oxytocin-induced water intoxication resulting from an undue retention of water, marked by vomiting, depression of temperature, convulsions, and coma and may end in death.


Water intoxication is a medical condition (also known as hyperhydration) in which an individual's intake of water is excessive. Its main consequence is hyponatremia (decreased plasma sodium, due to dilution) and suppression of the production of antidiuretic hormone. Extreme hyponatremia (with plasma sodium levels less than 100 mmol/L) frequently leads to cerebral oedema, seizures, coma, and death.

I know what it means, it means to have been holding water in your body for too long and it ends up rising and obviously, they were holding their breath so she choked and died.it was so sad that she died an d don't blame Ninty, it was the radio station that hosted the contest.
