do anyone know why the called the x-box 360 a 360 instead of x-box2. can anyone think of a name that would of been good for it.?

I guess I never really thought about it. Nintendo sort of progressed with their consoles from using an adjective (Nintendo to Super Nintendo), then the next system was the bit-rate (Nintendo 64)...they've been the most random I suppose with naming consoles.

Playstation....pretty straight-forward.

XBOX? Still the newest console line. Decided to use revolutions around a circle for names? Next....XBOX720?
I guess it's just originality. If it was XBOX2, that's a bit too similar to a competitor's name.

Maube they call it xbox 360 because they fix it completly all around.

i don't have a xbox. so to me they are both the same. i don't know the difference

360 means its round and to make it seem different from the x-box which is a square.....

the 360 icon is a ball with an "X" in it.... obvious factor of the "360" part (for all you people that are age 8 or younger 360 is a full circle
