I keep getting questions and requests from members to become a moderator. It isn't that easy, so I figured it was time to make an official statement on becoming a moderator.

First .. Don't ask .. its pretty rare we will bring someone into our team who has been asking for the position. Our thought on that is, if someone continues to ask then they are not seeking the position but the status they believe it provides. This isn't a good enough reason to be chosen as a moderator.

Administration invites a member to become a moderator after some discussion with either the moderating team or between administration regarding how well an individual fits our criteria.

What is the criteria? Good question .. here it is in a nutshell:

1). The member is respectful to all members on site.
2). The member is helpful in a constructive in a meaningful way.
3). The member follows the rules of the site (read them if you are not aware of what they are .. ignorance is not an excuse).
4). The member has been on site long enough to understand how the rules are enforced.
5). The member shows an understanding that this is not a playground but a site which has a purpose, to help new and old members alike with regards to gaming.
6). The member shows him or herself as responsible and dependable.

Remember, being a moderator is a job ... a moderator is expected to guide members toward the use of appropriate behavior, send messages to help those who are not posting within the rules learn what the rules are. Every social environment must have rules or chaos will ensue .. a mod is here to help ensure the rules are followed in the least abrasive manner possible. Even mods have rules to follow. So be darn sure you are capable of managing the position before you accept an invite.

Only moderators can become Global or Super mods through a promotion by Admin.
Only the site's owner (the founder) can invite someone to become an Administrator.

Now that this is posted .. officially ... I do hope I won't be getting any more members asking about becoming a mod. When one is needed, and the right person for the job found, that person will be notified.

Overall, all you as a member really need to do is enjoy the site, each other and be sure you are aware of and follow the site's rules.... essentially, play nice with each other .. lol
