I play the game on and off. I'm not an avid fan, but I think the series is really good.

Nah but seriously, Halo3 is an online game that appeals to the masses. I have some friends who I would probably consider "elite players of the game", and Halo3 just turned them off of the series. I just play for fun, so it's usually great fun.
