well super mario, if its an action replay cheat then you enter the mentioned code and follow the guidelines of the code, if its not an action replay code the just do what the code tells you.

You can't write a cheat.
But to enter cheats, some game have a 'Cheat Menu' or you just enter it during gameplay. Sometimes you go to a page, hold a key and enter, or face a direction, etc. It's different through most games.
