Question: Closing threads?

I see that when I went to post on a thread that it was closed. I understand that and im not mad or upset. But I was curious as to how you close a thread. By knowing how to close a thread I would know in the future so that I am aware that this person knows how to do it! I will not use it against people when they want to post in one of my threads.Another question: Can you close someone else's thread?

Threads may be closed for many different reasons but the most common are:

1) Lots of spam has just come up rendering it useless
2) The question has been answered or the threads importantce is no longer needed.
3) It infringes people's security.

As to how to close a thread, only mods and admins can do that and they can close any thread. Normal members, including VIP's, can not close threads. Hope this answers some questions.

Yin pretty much has it right on the money.....if the topic is kept reasonable, within the rules, on topic and doesn't endanger someone or infringe on someone's rights..... there usually is no reason to close it

Wow did I? That's pretty cool! Now I have no excuse for doing something wrong. lol. So yeah, stick to those rules and the thread will stay open. Sorry you can't close threads by the way spyro.
