Default Game Reviewers needed!

We are looking for more people who can review games and answer questions that are posted both in forum and on site.

CheatMaster is willing to give away games for those who prove to be good site game reviewers. Therefore ... we decided to start here in the forums before we invited anyone to be a site game reviewer. (for an example look here: http://www.cheatmasters.com/review.p...=&platform=PS2)

If there is enough interest and we start to see some decent reviews I will create a review board here and those who show promise as a good reviewer may well be asked to do reviews for the site.

If you wish to review a game, post the game title, what platform you have played it on and your description and review of the game in this board. As I said, if we get enough interest I will open a board specifically for game reviews.

So let's see what ya got? throw us some reviews and perhaps you too can be a CheatMaster game reviewer and win free games!

Title: Mario Golf-Toadstool Tour
Date of Release: July 28, 2003
Developer: Camelot (Camelot Software Planning)
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Nintendo Gamecube
ESRB Rating: E

- Overview -
This game is a sequel to the Nintendo64 game Mario Golf. In Mario Golf-Toadstool Tour you start out with the choice of playing with twelve characters: Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Koopa Troopa, Yoshi, Birdo, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Wario, Waluigi, and Bowser and featuring four unlockable characters: Bowser Jr. Boo, Shadow Mario, and Petey Pirahna. There are also six courses, of which five have to be unlocked.

- Description -
This golf game is not one you see everyday. There are several things that make this game very unique. You can get you ball eaten by Chain Chomp, fall in lava, and bounce off of Mushrooms. This game does include physics of real golf as well; including wind factor and topspin, backspin, and hills. This makes for a realistic game, but also with some things that you won't see in a game of golf.

- Review -
First of all, let me start this off by saying this game is really great and a must have for any Mario and golf fan. You should like this game if you buy it. Let me first start out with graphics. The graphics are fully used in this game and has graphics quality of next gen. There are little to no graphics glitches in this game and that makes it very enjoyable. You can pretty much tell by looking at the back of the box that this game looks good. I personally had a hard time playing in the beginning because you now have the option of having the accuracy automatically chosen. So I had a bit of trouble with that. I would suggest that when you first play the game, to play Stroke Play so you can get a feel of the game before you actually play in the tournament. The gameplay of this game is nothing sub-par. Almost anyone who plays the game will find it an enjoyable game. I thought that Tournament was awesome, but after a while I found that it got too easy. If you are a little more seasoned at the game, then Star Tournament will definetly provide a challenge.

I liked the side options as well like coin attack, and speed golf. These I found were pretty cool things seeing as I don't remember seeing them in the original Mario Golf. Of all the courses in the game, I think my favorite one would have to be the fourth course you unlock: Mushroom Kingdom one. This one has the most integration that come from other games, such as Pikmin and other older Mario Games. I would say all of the courses provide enough challenge and would be fun no matter how many times you play them. I also reccomend people that have never played any Mario Golg game start with Training Mode. You should learn all the controls in about ten to fifteen minutes and soon you should be ready for the tournaments.

Some new additions to the game that I think are pretty cool are Club Shots and the ability to see replays of Birdies, Eagles, Holes in One, and Albatrosses. Let me start with Club Shots. In this mode, you can only play with a certain number of clubs such as three or four, and they alternate every hole meaning that you choose new clubs every hole and you also can choose to get a bonus for that hole, such as an extra Power Shot or Perfect Accuracy. I can say that more advanced players try this mode because you may not get a very good set of clubs every hole. The videos are one of the best things in the game, Being able to prove that you finally got that Eagle or Hole in One. I have found that this option is pretty cool. I personally have only one Hole in One, in the hole that looks like Mount Rushmore with the rock sculptures of Mario and the gang. This feature again is pretty awesome.

The game also keeps statistics of how well you have done on each course in Tournament Mode. I found this to pretty pretty neat because I now can see what my farthest drive was, what was my best score on each course, and things like par saves and sand saves.

That is what I have for now. If you want anything else, just let me know.

Thanks,
Lukario

Pokemon Leafgreen

Pokemon leafgreen is literally one of the best gaming experiences up to date. the real trick here is: even though it says ''the end,'' you can't just put it down and say, ''whoops! i beat it, nothing left to do.'' the replay value is amazing, infinite. the elite four is just an appetizer of what is to come. there seem to be billions of side quests on the sevii islands. and that's not all: the magic word here, music to my ears: gameshark. Gameshark lets you catch every single Pokemon available. there are countless npc's that give you interesting info on the world of Pokemon. truly, Pokemon: leafgreen version is up there in the ''ultimate game league,'' putting it among the ranks of such games as ocarina of time and super mario bros. I recommend this game to everyone, gamers and non gamers alike. Pokemon: leafgreen is the pinnacle of the entire Pokemon franchise. thank you, Nintendo.

Title: Super Smash Bros Melee
Date of Release: December 3, 2001
Developer: HAL
Publisher: Nintendo
Platform: Nintendo Gamecube
ESRB Rating: T

- Overview -
The sequel to the popular Super Smash Bros. game, the Nintendo all stars are back again to fight. This time, you have more selection and a longer and funner time with a good game. You now can play with twenty-five characters; more than double the original roster. You start out with fourteen of the twenty-five available. There are also twenty-nine maps; eighteen of which are availabe at the start.

- Description -
This game is a fighting based game where players don't have a health meter. You play with a percentage that increases every time you get hit. This make the game a bigger variable because you never really know when you will actually get knocked out of the ring. The maps are also a force to be reconed with. You have to deal with debris falling and also animals in the way.

- Review -
I can say this is one of the best games I have ever played for any platform. There are several things that could make this game one of the best Nintendo games ever. For one, it is already the best selling Gamecube game, with seven million copies sold worldwide. It also boasts graphics that I would consider next-generation. You can say whatever you want, but the game had me at the cover. I already am an avid Super Smash Brothers fan and this game has so many things attached into it. For one, all the different modes in the game can make it to where you would have to spend several days, maybe even weeks or months just to complete even some of the game.

I would say I was impressed at first, but the gameplay did get stale after a while and I did originally feel that this game wasn't all I thought it was. That was, until I discovered Event Mode. This totally made my interest in the game go up ten fold and again I was playing the game to try to beat all of the events. At first, when I only say ten events, I thought this wouldn't be too hard, but I was proved so wrong. I really didn't know how many there would actually be in the game, so I just kept playing and playing until I had accumulated about 100 hours of gameplay. Event Mose was worth that, because every one is a challenge in itself.

I was pretty much satisfied with the One-player mode, with the Classic and Adventure mode. Adventure was pretty cool, but it is only fun a couple of times. Classic was improved now so you aren't versing the same character in the same place every time like in the original. This made the game pretty interesting. The one-player mode is even better with All-Star mose, where you have to play against every character in the game, with a set amount of lives.

The Versus mode probably never gets old because I can play against people on a variety of maps and this makes the gameplay pretty cool because the maps have cool soundtracks and the effects make the time you play worth it. I can say that this mode is a very good improvement to the game.

The maps are a really good addition to the game. I can say that this has to be the biggest hitch to the game. The game now includes moving maps, such as Infinite Glacier and the F-ZERO Grand Prix stage. I personally like the Dream Fountain stage that is part of the Kirby Series. The unlockable stages are pretty cool as well and I can say I am impressed with the quality of the maps, seeing as it was put together in such little time. The maps that move also make games even better.

Trophies are something that make me go Aaaarrrrggghhhh because it is nearly impossible to get every single one. I can say that this makes the game a lot harder to complete and players most likely go crazy just trying to get all of them. The ones that I think are the hardest ones to get are Mew and Celebi because there is literally no chance of you getting those to even appear. I know I had to play almost 250 hours before I got Celebi and Mew.

The characters also enhance the game a lot because of the uniqueness of every character. There are even some that don't appear in American and European games, such as Roy and Marth, who later have become a part of the US games. I can say that getting all the characters is a fear in itself because you have to play for five straight hours or twenty hours in versus mode and one-player to get Mewtwo. Just getting him means you are a pretty hard-core Super Smash Bros Fan.

Overall, I think this game is very good and I would say that anyone that has friends would have a blast playing this game.

Man, that has to be the longest message I have ever posted. Took me like 30 minutes to type it though.

Thanks,
Lukario

Use caution when giving reviews so that you are not simply copying them from the game box or a magazine article or even another web site's review. They must be in your own words or they could cause trouble due to copyright infringement.

I'm glad you all seem to have an interest, perhaps a board just for reviews would be in order then?

Thanks,

Oh I understand. I know I would do that because you have to make sure that plagiarism isn't involved because as everyone says America will sue anyone for anything.

Thanks,
Lukario
