Rules

1. Follow all site rules : Forum Rules -- Please read before posting .. updated 01-03-2010

2. Never bring your personal issues to the forum, but especially here. This is a place for role play fun, not for satisfying your personal agenda against an individual. Stay in Character.

3. Stay on topic! This is not a spam board nor is it a place for chit chat, that belongs in PM.

4. This board is ONLY to be used for Role Play and story postings.

5. If a Mod of the board asks you to delete or change a post, please do so. This is a courtesy to you. This way instead of it just being deleted, you have a chance to modify it to fit with the topic of the thread. If you do not comply with the mods request your post will simply be deleted.




Role Play Guidelines

**One character per person. One well developed character is better then three poorly developed characters.

**Being in character does not excuse violations of site rules.

**No L33T speak … Be true to your character and the era.

**Stick with the setting of the story.

**No God-modding! Your character is only responsible for his or her own actions and abilities. You may not control the actions /life/death/magic abilities of others. If you are gonna kill a character off, you MUST have their permission to do so!!

**Creativity is important. Rarely should a post contain something like ‘Sir Bob fainted’ rather it should describe why he fainted, what he was thinking, the sites he observed, etc.. For example ‘Sir Bob entered the throne room gasping for breath. The Undead enemy troops were many and well armed. As he approached the King he felt the room spinning then he suddenly fell in a heap at the King’s feet. An Undead poison arrow protruded from his backside.’ Add action and personality to your character.

**RP is a game .. a game … its not really happening to you, it isn’t real, doesn’t include personal insults. If you wanna have a violent or dramatic reaction to something, remember that whatever happened isn’t really happening to you, it’s a game, its happening to an inanimate (not real) character.

**Out of character (OOC) posting should be kept at a minimum. When necessary please use (( to begin your ooc statement and )) to end your ooc statement. NEVER post an ooc statement asking what has been happening … be respectful of the work of others in the RP and take the time to read or use the PM system to ask someone for a recap of events if you must. The exception is when appropriate communication between the members (not characters) helps to set the limits or boundaries of the RP.

**Use paragraphs and punctuation. A post containing 200+ words that are all together in one paragraph and include no punctuation is very difficult to read. Chances are it won’t be read.

**Use 3rd person speech. ‘Lord Bob grabbed the goblet …..’ not ‘I grabbed the goblet …’

**The original author of an RP thread has some ability to set the boundaries of said RP within the first post. However, not even the author has the right to God-mod nor disallow anyone from joining in provided they are following the rules and guidelines.

Remember, RP is about playing together as your characters. You, the author, may have an idea of what you want to have happen, but as with any set of events, others can and likely will create obstacles and twists to the plot. It is allowed!




We want this board to be a fun place for all to play. Please help us in doing so by showing the other players here the courtesy that you would expect them to show you.
